If you decide to ferment your batch with us you can avoid the need to purchase equipment or worry about setting up a dedicated space in your house for bottling, finding a temperature controlled spot for fermenting, and a safe space for storage. We have all the equipment on site and carry a complete line of accessories, even bottles if this is your first batch.

How long does it take to start?

Crafting your wine is not a difficult process. Your first visit will last about 15 minutes, the hardest part is choosing the wine you'd like.  If necessary, we'll guide you through this process by asking a few simple questions.  After you've chosen your wine style, it's a simple procedure of pitching the yeast (empty your yeast package) into the primary fermenter, you've just created wine.

What quality of wine kit should I purchase?

This business is built on providing a wine very similar to the commercial wine you like at a fraction of the price. We'lll make suggestions based on the quality and price point of the wine you purchase. We strongly suggest that, when you get started, you make the highest quality wine kit available. The cost savings are well worth it and you will have wine that tastes like fine commercial wine at a fraction of the cost!

Will my wine be equivalent to commercial wine?

Without question, you can easily make wines that are just as good, if not better, than the wines you find on the store shelf.

How much wine can a batch make?

Every batch of wine is capable of making 28-30 750ml bottles of wine.  You can bring your own wine bottles, reuse bottles from a pervious batch, or purchase bottles from us.  If you decide to BYOB, we simply ask that you clean any wine residue from the bottles before hand.  This can be accomplished by simply getting in the habit of rinsing your bottle once it's been emptied.

How long does it take to make wine?

Generally, our most popular wine batches take 4 - 6 weeks.  Our Ultra Premium wines will take 8 weeks.

How many bottles of wine can I expect?

Most kits make 23 litres or about 30, 750 mL bottles. To a newcomer, this may sound like a lot of wine but keep in mind, if you're like most winemakers, you'll likely give some bottles away because you'll be so proud of the results.

Do I need to age my wine?

Your wine will be very palatable soon after you bottle, particularly if you decant the wine for an hour or two before serving. As your wine ages in the bottle, you'll be excited to find how the wine softens and matures with just a few short weeks or months.

The wines you make from a kit, or we make on premise from a kit, are quite young.  During their first weeks to months these (just bottled) wines may taste somewhat harsh or sharp.

How long will my wine last in the bottle?

As Craft Wines contain far less sulphites than commercially processed wines, they unfortunately don't have the same shelf life. Commercial wines (those that you find in a liquor store) contain very high levels of sulphites in order to allow them several years on the shelf or wine cellar. Our wines contain a fraction of these sulphites. As a result, our wines have a shorter shelf life. These wines are meant to be enjoyed optimally within 2-3 years.

Can I use my wine for weddings?

Absolutely, you can use your wine in whatever event you wish, the only stipulation is that you are not permitted to sell your wine.
